Veloso Waterfail

The Veloso waterfall offers one of the most idyllic views of the whole Island. A river forks in an area with several rock walls creating three waterfalls, each more than 50 m in height. The first waterfall can be reached through an easy trail, which takes around 35 minutes to walk. It falls into a 70 m² pool, 1.70 m deep. It is possible to climb some natural steps and sit and relax under the water showering down from the mountain. To reach the other two falls above, the trail is steeper. The first, down river, is 50 m high, and reveals one of the most beautiful views of the channel and the Serra do Mar on the continent. The second fall, up river, reveals another wall of over 50 m.

Getting there: The entrance of the trail is less than 2 km south of Pousada Villaggio Assis at Veloso beach. You can walk from the inn or park the car in the beginning of the trail.

Who takes you there: On the easy trail you wont need a guide. For the steeper trail, though being well marked, we recommend the help of a guide to reach the waterfall.
